Exact'Soxy is a female Black Lab Mix born June 8, 2014
and last adopted June 8, 2014.
She is 5 years and 7 months old.
She is an angel. She is…….SOXY!!!!!
Soxy is a brave and playful young girl. She is also a great guard dog and will always help you when you need it. Soxy is a MoonPack warrior.
We got Soxy on the 30th October 2002. She was just the most cutest puppy ever. At least according to my mum. I was too young to remember anything then. Don’t let her looks deceive you. She was a naughty puppy XD She would always go for your socks, when your wearing them. Thats one reason for her name. The other is that she has white paws. Like she is wearing socks XD At one stage my mum thought she was going to have to give away Soxy but when she tried too my brother and me got upset. I have no idea why. Then, every time Soxy came near us we screamed. My mum and dad kept Soxy and I couldn’t be more happy that they did.
As Soxy grew up she truly became the most amazing and loyalest dog you would ever meet. She loved to play. No, she didn’t have a chew rope or squeaky toy. She wasn’t that type of dog. She was unique. She had a soccer ball. Thats right, Soxy loved soccer. It was her favourite and only toy. She wouldn’t play with anything else. Well, she would try and eat bubbles. XD I know, weird right? She just loved to catch bubbles.
Soxy was also a great guard dog. She wouldn’t hurt anyone but she was a big black dog with a huge bark. No one would dare break into our house thats for sure but to everyone that knew her she was just an innocent little puppy.
Like all dogs, she had some flaws but hey, I loved her anyway. For one, she hated loud noises like fireworks and was terrified of the wind. You know, like gale-force winds. It scared her and I have no idea why. She also had a habit of knocking stuff over with her tail XD I swear, it annoyed the hell out of my mum. Although she wasn’t perfect she was a good dog who wouldn’t hurt anyone. I loved my dog so much!!! She was truly my best friend :)
On the 10th May 2014, Soxy became quite ill. We had to take her to the vet. Things weren’t looking good for her and we thought we may have to put her down. However, we didn’t. Twelve years of love and loyalty is what Soxy had given us. She deserved a fighting chance. We went through with quite a few tests. It cost a lot of money but Soxy was worth every cent we payed and so much more. We found out she had some aggressive cancer around her uterus. She went in for an operation on the 28th May 2014 to have the cancer removed. I told my self no matter what happens I am glad we gave her a fighting chance.
On the morning of the 29th May 2014 Soxy passed away There was no indication anything had gone wrong prior to this. It turns out a blood clot had been formed after surgery. She would have passed quickly and painlessly. I just can’t believe it happened. She was always such a strong dog. I didn’t even get the chance to say goodbye…….
It is now time to say goodbye to my lovely dog and it will is the hardest thing I will ever have to do. However, it wasn’t really goodbye. It is just see you later for one day we will see each other again.
Goodbye my friend,
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigour; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together….
