Bad news... Rest In Peace my babies 😭🖤😭

Medium

So we just had to put Matilda, my little dribbly old kitty, to sleep. I haven’t had her long but she’s been my shadow and an absolute rock :(
We got her from someone who brought her to get her cremated because they found laying motionless her by the side of the road in terrential, freezing cold rain and presumed she was dead. After double checking for a pulse, we were about to confirm she was deceased until she startled us all, blinked and meowed. There was no pulse, I swear three of us checked.
She had no teeth, liver and kidney problems and thyroid problems which for a while were controlled by meds. She was bright, painless and happy.
She got better with intensive care but we knew we wouldn’t have too long with her because she had so many issues going on.
She is filthy because she eats with her paws and plays in her water bowl. She was also super skinny due to multiple issues, but she was bright and happy so we didn’t put her to sleep before.
This is a picture I took on the day at the vets (where I also work, hence the nurse tunic).

At the same time we’ve also lost Cassie, who’s been beside me since I was eight; she was the sister of my own dog Leo who I lost a few years ago. She was such a sweetie and was always begging for belly rubs and bringing me her favourite things :‘(
We got her at 12 weeks old when Leo (my dog)’s breeder approached us and asked if we would take her for cheaper as she was the runt and nobody wanted her. She and Leo – who was the second biggest in the litter – both grew to be larger than their parents, I have no idea what we did to them haha.
She’s had cushings her whole life and eventually it got beyond the point where treatment could no longer help. In just a few days her hips froze, she dropped weight dramatically and her fur started falling out.
She was scheduled for a day later, but suddenly there was lots of blood coming from her mouth and we rushed her straight in.
A tumour inside her throat that had been hidden from everyone had been discovered just a week before, and in just those few days since discovery the tumour had also grown dramatically and then burst horrifically so we said our final goodbyes :( <3

Plus we had to have Saffy put to sleep too just this year if anyone remembers this post. We’re losing so many of our babies this year.

To make things worse, Belle, my neurological/epileptic/deaf kitty has been found to be getting kidney problems which means the end has started creeping closer for her :‘(
She may last quite a while more, but the. she may also go downhill quite fast from here.
She’s my last kitty left and probably the most bonded to me </3

Luckily, my bunnies and our last remaining Springer, Chloe are okay for now. I hope they stay that way for a long time.

I don’t know how much more I can take :‘( :’( :‘( :’(

Oh my goodness, I am so sorry for your loss. You did the best you could for all of them, they were in the best hands. You gave them a wonderful life. I am so sorry. The pain is extremely hard… I was there as well this year. I am so sorry you lost 2 pets. If you need someone to talk to I am here for you. <3

Equi my heart truly hurts for you. I just went through this pain but with only one of my babies a week ago. I can not imagine multiple. Most pet owners have an unreplaceable bond with their furry loved ones and thats something that nothing else can fill in your heart. Cuddle Saffy and give her all the attention she deserves. My messages are open if you ever want to talk 💕

I’m so so sorry for the losses :( I can only imagine how much it must hurt to lose more than one pet in such a short amount of time. my cats are getting older and I’ve been worried deep down that I could lose them in the next 2-3 years, or even sooner. losing a pet is a pain that’s incomparable and I know how hard it must be right now. if you ever need anything, my messages are always open <3

Oh Equi, my heart goes out to you. I am so very sorry for your losses. I can’t even imagine what you are going through. I had the hardest time when just one of my bunnies passed away, and you are dealing with so many. Our furry friends are part of the family and when we lose one or more of them, it’s really hard to deal with. Sending my thoughts and a little prayers won’t hurt, at this difficult time. If you need anything or need to vent or just want to talk, my messages are always open. ♡

Oh Equi, I’m so sorry for your loss. Having to say goodbye to a beloved pet is always so painful, I can’t even imagine losing multiple ones, in such a short amount of time. =’(

Thank you everyone for your kind words, it means a lot to know I am not alone. I just had to put this somewhere. I’m really hoping no more of my babies leave me for a while but we just don’t know what Belle’s kidneys are going to do <3
