Sudden issue

Medium

Starting like 2 days ago I found it quite impossible to fall asleep, I laid down at like 2 A.M. and couldn’t get to sleep until like 8 A.M. I woke up like 4 p.m. and have not been able to sleep since. I have now been up for 33 hours and have been trying to go to sleep for the past 2 hours and nothing. I am exhausted and can’t sleep, I don’t even know what to do. v.v

What I normally do when I can’t sleep is lay as still as possible and count back from 100. If im not asleep by then I simply give my body a break from trying to sleep. Read a book in dim light, take a relaxing bath, grab a snack, do light yoga… whatever you chose just keep it very relaxing. Try avoiding tv, phones, and computers because the light tends to keep you more alert. Every 30 mins try counting backwards once again and repeat until your mind is more relaxed and ready for sleep

I would try to sleep without TV/youtube/music but I get really bad night terrors when I sleep in silence and I even have some bad dreams with the background noise. This hasn’t been a problem until 2 days ago and I am really worried because I am tired enough to pass out easily but when I do lay down to try to sleep it is honestly impossible. I know I haven’t been up as long as a lot of people but I feel like I am already losing my mind. I just want some sleep and i want to know why i can’t sleep, it is effecting me pretty heavily. I have never had this issue, except when I was having really bad nightterrors and was afraid to go to sleep and that was over 5 years ago.

it’s not your healthiest option, but taking 2-3 advil PM, cold meds, or benadryl will put you right out.

I have tried some over the counter sleeping pills, and some beynodryl in these last 33 hours and nothing. I still couldn’t sleep. Do you think it could be that I am sick or something?

I would definitely go to your doctors in the morning for this. You can try a YouTube video that is specifically to help you fall asleep. Also if you have any pets try cuddling with them.

I have a bipolar disorder and when I’m on maniac stage, I can’t fall asleep easily. So I take abilify and it flattens my emotions, helps me regulate my emotions and knocks me off to sleep. It could be your mental issues too. So get checked out!. :(

I too have bipolar disorder and various other mental health issues and experience issues sleeping

You could be suffering with insomnia, which is not fun. Nothing would ever work for me when it came to sleeping pills. I would be up for days. I finally got an oil that is especially made for insomnia, and all I do is rub a tiny bit on my wrists and/or temples and I’m out like a light in the next 10 minutes . Maybe investing in something like would help? :)
